The School District of Beloit is governed by a seven-member elected Board of Education that sets policies, approves the annual budget, and provides overall strategic direction for the district. The Board appoints a Superintendent, who serves as the district’s chief executive and is responsible for day-to-day administration, implementing board policies, managing staff, and overseeing instructional and operational departments. District functions such as finance, human resources, teaching and learning, pupil services, facilities, transportation, and communications operate under the Superintendent’s leadership. The Board also uses committees to review and guide work in key areas, helping ensure effective governance and support for students and schools.

In the School District of Beloit, Board members serve three-year terms and the seats are staggered so that roughly one-third are up each year.  All meetings are held at the George J. Kolak Education Center, 1500 Fourth Street, Beloit, Wisconsin unless otherwise posted. Regular board meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month. All meetings are held in the Barbara Hickman Boardroom unless otherwise noted on the meeting posting.
